Benjamin Harjo, Jr.
Benjamin Harjo, Jr. motivated my long time love of American Indian art. My first limited edition prints were purchased in 2004 or 2005 when I lived in Washington D.C. I was introduced to Mr. Harjo as a 17 year old intern at Red Earth in Oklahoma City. He is an honored Oklahoman and Vietnam veteran who passed in 2023. He studied at the Institute of American Indian Arts and received a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Oklahoma State University in 1974. He is Absentee Shawnee and Seminole.
Benjamin Harjo, Jr. originally studied as a cartoonist and has become legendary for a sometimes whimsical, sometimes somber, and always elegant style. More information for Benjamin Harjo, Jr is here - http://www.benjaminharjojr.com.
