DeWitt Lickle is a famed local artist and well known fisherman based in Maui, Hawai’i. The piece featured in this collection is a rare Japanese art form called Gyotaku art. Gyotaku art, the Japanese word for fish impression, is created by applying water base inks, which are applied directly onto the side of a fish, then rice paper is carefully pressed on top.
